| We don't believe we have heard a more emotional cause for BaFe tape than that of tape archivists. When tape fails, many times the tape is the only chronicle of the subject matter. The failure leads to hours of search time or additional expense to gain the material, and viewpoints of inefficiency in a storage facility often prevail. One observer called this inefficiency a "career altering moment." We know it as a predictable material failure. Tape is SUPPOSED to last a few years, and that time is predictable under perfect conditions. How your staff rewinds tape after use, exact moisture content of the environment while in use, and if the tape is "stretched" IN THE STORAGE FACILITY before long term storage partially determines the life span of the material. Why take a chance and HOPE for good storage results when a better alternative is available? BaFe tape costs a fraction more than MP, and a lot less than storage and retrieval costs. The Smithsonian and PBS know the value of BaFe, and have taken advantage of the highest level of quality assurance for the future available. Make your next case purchase one of BaFe. |
